It is our great pleasure to inform you that the Casimir Pulaski Foundation was co-organising the second BBN’s strategic debate about Perspectives after the NATO Summit in Vilnius.

The debate was chaired by the Head of the National Security Bureau, Minister Jacek Siewiera, who is the initiator of the whole event. This is the second consecutive strategic debate. A series of debates is organized with the aim of a broad exchange of views between expert groups on the processes taking place in the changing security environment. The moderator of the first part of the event was Katarzyna Pisarska – Chairwoman of the Council of the Foundation. Casimir Pulaski and the President of the Warsaw Security Forum, who had the pleasure of talking to:

• Gen. Rajmund Andrzejczak – Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army;

• prof. Jacek Czaputowicz – former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland;

• Justyna Gotkowska – Deputy Director of the Center for Eastern Studies;

• Tomasz Szatkowski – Permanent Representative of the Republic of Poland to NATO;

• Marek Budzisz – Strategy&Future expert

During the conversation, they discussed the long-term directions of Polish security policy – in the internal and international dimension – after the Russian aggression against Ukraine. Among our representatives, the event was also attended by: Founder of the Warsaw Security Forum, President of the Casimir Pulaski Foundation Zbigniew Pisarski, Program Director of the Casimir Pulaski Foundation Tomasz Smura, as well as Program Director of the Warsaw Security Forum Bartłomiej Kot.

The purpose of the BBN Strategic Debates is to conduct a public discussion based on a broad consensus, creating conditions for the implementation of long-term strategic plans to strengthen the state’s security. Topics of discussion include issues of military and non-military security in the national and international dimension. Important areas include the development of the Polish Armed Forces, alliance policy within NATO, the conflict in Ukraine, building the resilience of state and social institutions, and strengthening the national defense industry. The debates are also closely related to the security policy implemented by the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda. Representatives of state institutions, the Polish Armed Forces and other uniformed services and formations, experts representing non-governmental organizations and representatives of the media environment are invited to participate in the debates.
