Kowal Paweł

Graduate of Jagiellonian University, in 2011 he wrote his doctoral thesis at the Institute of Political Studies of Polish Academy of Science. Expert in Polish Eastern Policy. Between 1998 and 2000 he worked at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister where he was the Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs. From 2000 to 2001 he acted as the Director of the Department of Cooperation with Foreign Countries and European integration of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. In 2005 Kowal was chosen as a member of Polish Parliament. During his term he was the chairman of Culture and mass media committee and a member of the Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee (2005-2006). Between 2006 and 2007 he acted as the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2000 Kowal was chosen as a member of the European Parliament where he dealt with EU’s relations with countries formed after the USSR collapse, which made him the chairman of EU-Ukraine Committee.
