Karolina Wanda Olszowska

PhD in Humanities, historian, and Turkologist, she is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Political Science and International Relations of the Jagiellonian University. She is also the President and co-founder of the Institute for Turkish Studies (Instytut Badań nad Turcją).
She is the author of the book Turkish-American and Turkish-Soviet Relations in 1945–1952 (WUJ, Kraków 2023) and co-author of Polish-Turkish Relations from the Eighteenth through the Twentieth Century (Routledge, New York 2026).
She examines Turkey from every possible angle—analyzing the country through both a 20th-century historical lens and a contemporary one, covering both foreign and domestic policy. Her primary research interests include Turkish-Russian relations, Turkey’s role in the Black Sea region, and Polish-Turkish relations.
