Edward Wrong

Edward Wrong is an expert in geoeconomics. His work focuses on how states apply and integrate economic, industrial, intelligence, and kinetic power to pursue strategic objectives, and the consequences for global markets, technology competition, and international security.

From 2017-2025, he served as a senior intelligence official at NATO headquarters. He led the NATO intelligence division’s economic and energy analysis portfolios and served on the Ukraine Task Force from 2022-2025, among other senior intelligence roles. He previously held positions at NATO headquarters in defense investment, policy planning, and operations, and deployed with NATO Kosovo Forces in Pristina in 2015 as a senior civilian project leader.

Prior to joining NATO, he served in the Office of the Secretary General at the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna and the economic affairs section at the EU Delegation to the United States, as well as in the private sector. Edward began his career as a journalist reporting for ABC News in London and CBS News in Washington, DC.

Edward holds an MA in international relations and international economics from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, and an MA in public policy and law and BA in political science from Trinity College (US). He is an Atlantik-Brücke Young Leader (2019) and serves on the New Helsinki Process Task Force. His analysis is regularly cited in global media outlets, including BBC, Politico, and The Telegraph.
