Mateusz Łabuz

A researcher at the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy at the University of Hamburg (IFSH), where he leads the “International Cybersecurity” project. He is the author of the book “Przed Waszą Erą” (“The End of Reality”) published in 2026. He earned his Ph.D. from Chemnitz University of Technology. He was a career diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, graduated from the Diplomatic Academy, and worked at the Polish Embassy in Berlin. He is a member of the Task Force on the Safety of Children and Youth in the Digital World, established by the Minister of Justice in Poland. He lectures on cybersecurity, disinformation, and fact-checking at the University of the National Education Commission in Kraków. He is an expert at the CEE Digital Democracy Watch and Future Shift Labs. His research interests include the impact of artificial intelligence on social relations, as well as new trends in the field of disinformation and cognitive operations. For over twenty years, he has run the WarHist.pl website dedicated to the history of World War II. In his spare time, he plays beach volleyball and has participated in the Polish and German National Championships.
