Jan Wojciech Piekarski

Personal Ambassador. In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he held managerial positions, including deputy director and director of the Middle East and Asia departments, and general director. In the years 1994-1997 he was the head of the Diplomatic Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Abroad, he held functions: First Secretary of the Embassy in Tehran (1977–1981), Ambassador in Islamabad (1984–1989), Head of the American Interests Section in Baghdad (1991–1994), Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxemburg (1998–2002), and to the State of Israel (2003–2006). He has many national and foreign decorations. He gave lectures on diplomatic protocol and Middle East issues at the National School of Public Administration and the Warsaw School of Economics, and the Diplomatic Academy in Warsaw. At the European Academy of Diplomacy, he is a lecturer in the one-year Academy of Young Diplomats program and conducts training in diplomatic protocol and public speaking in an international environment. Lecturer at the Warsaw School of Economics on postgraduate studies: Economic Diplomacy and Postgraduate Studies in Foreign Service.
