The Casimir Pulaski Foundation is proud to announce that it joined a cooperative initiative with the Association for International Affairs from the Czech Republic to implement the project entitled “Connecting networks of women in foreign, European and security policy, across the V4 states”. The project partners also include the Centre for Euro-Atlantic Integration and Democracy (CEID, Hungary) and the Research Centre of the Slovak Foreign Policy Association (SFPA, Slovakia). On the Polish side the project is also substantially supported by WIIS Poland.
The project addresses the gender gap in foreign, European, and security policy participation in the V4 countries. Despite women making up a significant part of the population and university graduates, their representation in decision-making roles is disproportionately low.
To tackle this, the initiative plans networking events and a conference for women leaders in these fields. The goal is to empower women through connections, knowledge sharing, and awareness. The project aims to create a more inclusive environment, fostering equal representation in policy discussions.
Through collaboration, advocacy, and partnerships, the project seeks to bring about lasting positive change in the V4 states’ foreign policy communities. The focus is on empowering female experts and promoting gender-balanced representation in critical areas.
The first project meeting will take place in Prague in March, under the theme of women in European politics. Another session of the project will be held in April, this time in Warsaw, and will focus on women in security.
The project is co-financed by the Governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
