January meeting of the National Security Industry Club on the Polish space sector
Opublikowano: February 5, 2025
The January meeting of the National Security Industry Club focused on the opportunities and challenges facing the development of the Polish space sector.
On January 28, at the offices of the law firm “Wardyński i Wspólnicy,” another meeting was held for the members and partners of the National Security Industry Club, established in May 2024. The purpose of the event was to discuss the key challenges, opportunities, and possibilities for the development of the space sector and its role in national security.
The meeting was attended by industry organizations, company board members, and municipal authorities. Participants in the debate included representatives from the Polish Space Agency, the Space Research Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Creotech, Eycore, Exatel, Iceye, Teldat, Thorium Space Technologies, and Rebels Valley.
An important part of the debate was a preview presentation by Accenture representatives of their original report on “The Importance of Space Technology in Business Development.” The Accenture team, a Content Partner of the National Security Industry Club, was led by Director Katarzyna Włodarczyk.
The thematic partners for the event were the Stalowa Wola Regional Development Agency and Space 4 Talent, represented by Tomasz Miśko, Vice Mayor of Stalowa Wola, and Jacek Śledziński, President of the Board of StARR.
The legal team specializing in the aviation and aerospace sector, which served as the legal partner for this discussion, was led by attorney Michał Gliński, a partner at Wardyński & Partners.
The meeting was opened by Zbigniew Pisarski, President of the Casimir Pulaski Foundation, who discussed the role of debates in sectoral dialogue—a process necessary for both the industry and public institutions responsible for establishing regulations and rules governing market participation that affect national security.
The lively debate, which lasted over three hours, was moderated by Aleksander Sala, Secretary General of the National Security Industry Club.
“As we planned the National Security Industry Club’s activities for the coming year – aimed at supporting businesses and public institutions involved in national security – we could not overlook the space sector. This is an industry where numerous research and development projects and tangible investments are currently underway, which have a direct impact on the economy, the labor market, and the innovations and patents desired in the sector. This includes those that can provide a competitive advantage and are crucial for enhancing the country’s independence and security. The voices of the debate participants seem to point to the need to seek practical and immediate solutions to the identified barriers and shortcomings in the functioning of the entire sector. We plan to hold another meeting on the topic of space before the Warsaw Security Forum 2025.” Aleksander Sala, Secretary General of the National Security Industry Club.
