The 10th edition of the Warsaw Security Forum (WSF), held between 3-4 October 2023, hosted over 2000 delegates from 70 countries, including government representatives of 30 states and 5 international organizations.

Among key speakers and guests of the WSF2023 were: Chair of the NATO Military Committee Adm. Rob Bauer, National Security Adviser to the Vice President of the United States Philip H. Gordon, Minister of Defence of Sweden Pål Jonson, National Security Advisor to the President of the United States Lt. Gen. (R) Herbert Raymond H.R McMaster, Minister of Defence of the Netherlands Kajsa Ollongren, EU Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries Virginijus Sinkevičius, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Iceland Thórdís Kolbrún Reykfjörð Gylfadóttir, UK Minister of State for Indo-Pacific Anne-Marie Trevelyan, Mayor of Warsaw Rafał Trzaskowski, Supreme Allied Commander Europe Gen. (R) Tod D. Wolters, alongside over 30 Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Defense and Energy, Chief of Defense from EU, NATO and partnership countries.

 

 

The Warsaw Security Forum has once again hosted the annual Knight of Freedom Award Ceremony. In 2023 the Award was presented to the North Atlantic Treaty Alliance, for NATO’s indispensable role in providing security and prosperity to its Member States, including playing a crucial role in strengthening NATO’s Eastern Flank.

The Award was accepted – on behalf of the Alliance – by the Chair of NATO’s Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer. In his passionate speech Admiral Bauer spoke on how NATO has experienced a transformative decade, undergoing “unprecedented change, at an unprecedented speed.” As a result NATO is not only stronger and readier to face the security challenges ahead, but the “Transatlantic spirit is alive, and bursting with energy.” NATO also received a strong laudation from National Security Advisor to the President of Poland, Secretary of State Jacek Siewiera, who has applauded the Alliance for “making the Euro-Atlantic area safe and peaceful for the last 74 years“.

 

 

The WSF2023 Agenda was divided into four mainstage tracks: Global Outlook, Defense, Energy Security & Climate and Democratic Resilience Tracks – each discussing the most important challenges in a given area for Transatlantic Security.

The WSF2023 has also hosted:

  • 10 thematic roundtables and working formats,
  • International Center for Ukrainian Victory Advocacy Component,
  • Women in International Security Annual Breakfast.

Over 100 sessions and formats and four separate tracks of discussion were also followed by 171 registered international journalists, resulting in 0ver 4000 publications with over 6500 live online viewers on both days of the Forum.
